African Medical Research and Education Foundation (AMREF)
"African Marketplace Gala"
An annual fundraiser, the vastness of St Lawrence Market was transformed into a virtual African Marketplace. Lush foliage, dense cargo netting, renditions of authentic African props, artifacts and tropical flowers created a mystical environment for this Gala. African Drummers, Merchants selling their products, a Silent Auction, and a feature presentation by the cast of "The Lion King" also contributed to this fundraiser with over 1 million dollars raised in five short years.
STAR AWARD - MOST OUTSTANDING SPECTACLE UNDER $100,000
Private Event "The Cinderella Ball"
This young lady’s Bat Mitzvah was reminiscent of the fairytale Cinderella. Held in a Tent, yards of fabric, cast iron fountains and candelabra set the environment for a cast of Entertainers who were selected, costumed and scripted in a short 18 Days. From dancing the Minuet to the fitting of a ‘glass slipper’, this event transformed a private home's backyard into a memorable Grand Ball fit for a princess!
STAR AWARD - BEST TRADE SHOW BOOTH
Proctor & Gamble "Febreze"
An interactive exhibit, that recreated life-size sections of a home and its 'smelly' places. Attendees experienced a ‘nose-on’ opportunity to test this new odor-eliminating product on various items such as used Hockey Player’s gear, smelly Kitchen rags, Pet Hair covered couches and so on.
STAR AWARD - BEST THEMED EVENT UNDER $10,000
MBANX "Basic Elements"
This Holiday Event was held in a large Warehouse venue with ugly pillars and a rew 'open' ceiling. To bring the elegance of the season to the Employee Appreciation Event, yards of White sheer fabrics extended from suspended White umbrellas that were filled - like Candy dishes - with pearl and iridescent balloons. Extensive use of 'icicle' lights gave this decor a 'new' look as they swaged through-out the ceiling. Each of the broad room pillars were wrapped with fabric and given a 'tuxedo' look with black fabric accents.
ESPRIT AWARD - MOST CREATIVE PROPOSAL
Zoological Society of Metropolitan Toronto "Zoo Do - Return to the Dark Continent"
A story-like dialogue described the sights and sounds of an exotic African evening presented for patrons of the Zoo. This event included utilizing numerous Pavilion areas within the Zoo property as well as a dedicated Event pavilion. This Award recognized the originality of Event Design as well as the custom graphics and designs actually installed at the event.

Children's Aid Society Foundation
"Teddy Bear Affair - South Pacific"
Inspired by the lush islands of the South Pacific, guests went on a journey ‘down under the sea’ full of silent auction treasures. The romance of palm trees and magically lit umbrellas blended beautifully with the ‘Flying’ Patio Furniture, tropical table décor complete with mini Palm Trees and Hawaiian style ‘Hula’ Teddy Bears!
